Suriya’s much-awaited family entertainer Vishwanath & Sons has officially locked its release date. The makers announced today that the film will hit theatres worldwide on August 14, 2026, strategically targeting the extended Independence Day weekend. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film will release simultaneously in both Telugu and Tamil.
Following the massive success of Karuppu, which became Suriya's highest-grossing film earlier this year, expectations are sky-high for Vishwanath & Sons. The recently unveiled teaser introduced audiences to Sanjay Vishwanath, an international pistol shooter in his 40s who continues chasing his dreams. The layered character showcases Suriya in a role that balances fatherly warmth with emotional depth.
Independence Day Weekend Strategy
The August 14 release positions Vishwanath & Sons to capitalize on the long Independence Day weekend, a prime window for family audiences. Sithara Entertainments, the production house behind the film, made the official announcement on social media earlier today.
The film is being produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, promising wholesome entertainment packed with emotions, humour, and heartwarming family moments.
Star-Studded Ensemble Cast
Vishwanath & Sons features an impressive lineup beyond Suriya’s lead role. Mamitha Baiju, who gained widespread recognition for her performance in Premalu, plays a significant and intriguing female lead character. The ensemble also includes Raveena Tandon, Radhika Sarathkumar, Bhavani Sre, and Bjorn Surrao in prominent roles.
